Kuala Lumpur went from perhaps two playable pickleball venues in 2022 to a genuine network. Dedicated clubs opened in Bukit Kiara and Kampung Pandan, DBKL painted lines in more than a dozen community halls, and the eastern suburbs finally got their own courts so Cheras players stopped driving into town.
That range is good news, but it makes the choice harder. A RM25 hall and a RM50 club are not competing for the same player. Below, every KL venue we verify, scored on the same rubric.

The most underrated development in KL pickleball is not a new club — it is Kuala Lumpur City Hall marking pickleball courts across its community halls and sports complexes. Rates are fixed at RM40 per hour indoors and RM25 outdoors, which undercuts every private venue in the city.
Venues in the network include Bangsar Sports Complex, the Taman Tun Dr Ismail Community Centre, Bukit Damansara Community Centre, Sentul Perdana, Taman Maluri, Setiawangsa, Wangsa Maju Section 4, Seri Endah, Kampung Baru, Cheras Baru and Taman Bunga Raya.
What you trade for the price
DBKL halls are functional, not comfortable. Expect basic changing rooms, no air-conditioning, no equipment loan and no open play sessions. Bring your own group and your own paddles.

KL pickleball has a hard peak between 7pm and 10pm on weekdays. If your schedule allows anything else, you will pay less and wait less. Weekday mornings at DBKL halls are close to empty, and Saturday before 9am is comfortably the best outdoor slot of the week before the heat arrives.
If you can only play late, Zebra Square and Hyprground across the border in PJ both run past midnight. That is unusual in Malaysia and worth knowing.
Start at a venue that runs open play so you are not trying to assemble three other players. Read the beginner rules first — twenty minutes of reading saves an hour of confusion on court — and hold off buying a paddle until you have played three or four times. Pickle Social Club at Bukit Kiara is the most established dedicated venue, with eight courts. Zebra Square in Kampung Pandan offers central courts with near round-the-clock booking. For cheaper play, more than a dozen DBKL community halls now have marked pickleball courts, including Bangsar Sports Complex and the TTDI Community Centre.

Yes. Pickle Lah serves the Cheras area, and the DBKL network includes Taman Maluri Multipurpose Hall and Cheras Baru Multipurpose Hall. Cheras Badminton Academy also converts courts for pickleball.
Yes. Zebra Square in Kampung Pandan accepts bookings around the clock, and Hyprground just across the Selangor border in PJ Seksyen 19 stays open until 1am. Most other venues close between 10pm and midnight.
No. Almost all KL venues take public hourly bookings. Membership is only required at private clubs. DBKL halls are open to anyone who books through the council system.
